Artistic Director Job Description

Coastal Chorale seeks Artistic Director

Applicant must meet the following qualifications:
·  Degree in music or equivalent experience 
·  Demonstrated experience in leading a mixed-
    voice, volunteer chorus with a wide range
    of musicianship and vocal skills  
·  Experience conducting a varied repertoire
    of choral music
·  Experience conducting orchestras and other
    instrumental groups of varying sizes and types 
·  Demonstrated success with planning concerts that
    inspire and entertain both singers and audiences
·  Can demonstrate creative and innovative ideas
    for programming, rehearsing and managing
·  Singing ability sufficient to demonstrate
    expectations
·  Interacts well with audiences of all ages
·  Advanced piano keyboard skills are preferred
·  Basic understanding of the administrative function
    of a successful independent music program
·  Ability to work as part of a team
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills

Coastal Chorale to take
year-long Sabbatical

 “The Board of Directors for the Coastal Chorale have voted to take a year-long sabbatical and regroup,” stated David Horton, acting Chairman for the Chorale. “To our fans and supporters of the Chorale, this means no Summer Show or Christmas Show in 2009 and no Snowbird Serenade in February 2010. The Board is active and busy making plans for the future. We are honestly trying to come up with innovative ideas to keep the Chorale moving forward,” Horton continued.

The Chorale is working to begin a new show in August 2010. Check the chorale website on occasion for updates. Horton said, “The board would like to thank our sponsors and chorale patrons for all of their support. We look forward to seeing you soon.”
