Chorale Manager, and Cale Ebert (right), Scholarship
Coordinator and
Chorale member.
The Coastal Chorale, Baldwin County's outstanding choral
organization, is proud to announce the winner of their 4th
annual college scholarship. The award is for Baldwin Country high
school graduates intending to pursue a college degree in vocal
music, thus meeting the goal of the Chorale to encourage talented
students to further their music education.
Melinda Price, winner of the $1000 scholarship and Spanish Fort High
School senior, credits her voice teacher for her vocal training. For
her scholarship audition, Melinda chose Se tu m'ami by
Alessandro Parisotti and Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Melinda has achieved many musical honors
while in high school, including being named to the 2008 Alabama
All-State Choir. In preparation for a professional career in the
opera, she will attend the University of South Alabama where she
will major in vocal performance. Her long range goals include
achieving a master’s degree in vocal performance and a doctoral
degree in music education. Melinda plans to someday teach private
voice lessons and sites her love of teaching as the reason for
eventually seeking a degree in music education.
